Bullring
In 1947, a group of piedrahitenses contribute with cash to the construction of the Bullring, called "La Monumental de Castilla la Vieja" or even "La Perla del Valle", one of the most beautiful in the region, its capacity is 4500-5000 localities, cost 1,400,000 pesetas and was constructed in three years.
Its works were finished in 1950 and it opened in August 1951. It was designed by architect Clemente Oria in granite masonry, it features a stone stands a brick cornice adorned with balls burladeros granite and wood and became the major bullring of Castilla y León.
Before its construction, the bullfights that were held during the celebrations of the city, took place in the main square of the town, which was conditioned for these events with wood that formed the stands and the square itself, and in the Shrine chapel of the Virgen de la Vega, which incidentally, was square, as in all the chapels of the province; apparently it was more convenient build them square than round. So we know that at least since 1504 bullfightings were held in the main square of the town.
